What is an InterLibrary Loan?
The Larsen-Sant Public Library Interlibrary Loan Department serves our patrons by borrowing books not owned by the Larsen-Sant Public Library from other libraries throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our service also includes lending resources to requesting academic, institutional, and public libraries in the Pacific Northwest.

Are new books available for an Interlibrary Loan?
New books are not availabe through an interlibrary loan.

How do I make a request?
One request per patron at a time. A form must be filled out for item requested. Forms are available at the circulation desk. You need to provide correct title and author for the book you wish to borrow.

How will I be notified?
You wil be notified by telephone when your book has arrived and is ready to pick up. There is a $5.00 fee if you fail to pick up your book within 5 days.

Where do I return the materials?
Please return your interlibrary loan materials to the Larsen-Sant Library promptly so we can ensure continued good service from the lending institutions.

How much does it cost?
Believe it or not most interlibrary loans are free! There generally is no charge for interlibrary loan books borrowing from Idaho libraries. There may be a charge when borrowing from an out-of-state library, though we try to avoid dealing with libraries that charge fees. Donations for postage are accepted.

How long will it take?
In general, in-state borrowing can take 3-5 days (but can take up to 2 weeks). Out-of-state borrowing may take 3 or more weeks. Each request is processed as quickly as possible.

How long can I keep the material?
The loan period is set by the lending library and ranges from 1-3 weeks from the date the book is received by Larsen-Sant Library.
